Egeria Najas is very similar to Elodea Densa. It has more leafy stems which are more fragile than Elodea Densa. It is great for beginners and less patient aquarists. The rate of growth depends mainly on the power of lighting and the availability of mineral compounds in the water. In the case of mineral deficiencies, the plant does not stop growing but turns light green/transparent and new stems grow thinner. Egeria Najas like Elodea densa likes clean water. In too old water and with too poor lighting it stops growing, turns yellow and then dies. It prefers cooler water temperatures that's why it is good plant for ponds as well.
