Peacock Moss (Taxiphyllum sp.) is a beautiful and delicate moss, commonly used in aquascaping for its striking appearance and ability to thrive in a variety of environments. This moss is named for its vibrant, feather-like structure, which resembles the plumage of a peacock. It is often used to create lush carpets or as a decorative element when attached to hardscapes like rocks or wood.
Difficulty: Easy
Origin: Southeast Asia
Light Requirements: Medium to high
CO2: Not necessary, but can enhance growth
Usage: Aquascaping
Growth Rate: Slow to medium
Height: 5-8 cm
Planting Zone: Epiphyte (grows on hardscape)
Temperature Range: 18 - 28°C

Planting Instructions:
Peacock Moss should be attached to rocks, wood, or mesh using fishing line or cotton thread. Carefully place the moss on the desired surface and secure it with the fishing line or thread, making sure not to tie it too tightly to allow the moss to spread naturally. Avoid using glue, as it can damage the moss and impede its growth.
Peacock Moss thrives in stable water conditions with medium to high lighting. While it can survive without CO2 supplementation, it will grow more vigorously with CO2 and good nutrient levels. Once established, it can form a thick, lush carpet or drape beautifully over decorations in your aquarium.
