X10 Sagittaria Subulata is a very popular foreground plant, chosen by both beginners and more advanced aquarists. Sagittaria can grow under a variety of conditions. It will grow shorter under good light and limited nutrient supply. With lower light and better nutrient supply it might develop quite long leaves up to 30-50 cm. Trimming older and higher leaves will promote dense and compact growth. If the plant will not have enough nutrient the leaves will become yellow and sickly. It would need to be treated with iron and other nutrients. Sagittaria spreads by sending out runners, which will form new plants that send out more runners.
